Bison was founded by The Terry and Kim Pegula Family Office known as East Asset Management in conjunction with operating partner Teton Capital Partners founded by Brad Ball and his team of executives.
As Terry Pegula rose from petroleum engineer to Billionaire Oil and Gas Entrepreneur, Philanthropist, and Professional Sports Team Owner the family was amazed to see all the products, services, and capabilities that became available to them. Bison seeks to make these family office tools available to Bison clients.

Emily Buss serves as Head of Human Resources at Bison Wealth, where she leads people strategy, talent management, employee engagement, and organizational development. She brings a decade of experience in the financial services industry, beginning her career with CarMax Auto Finance before discovering a passion for supporting organizations and professionals within the investment and wealth management industry.
A curious and analytical thinker, Emily approaches HR as both a people function and a business discipline. She is a dedicated problem solver who enjoys digging beneath the surface of complex challenges, asking thoughtful questions, and understanding what an organization is truly trying to solve for before developing a solution. Her approach combines strategic thinking with a genuine interest in people, allowing her to balance the needs of employees with the goals of the business. She is particularly passionate about building thoughtful people practices, strengthening organizational culture, and creating environments where talented people and businesses can grow together.Emily holds the SHRM-CP designation, Employment Law certification, and is a Workhuman Certified Professional.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with her husband and their three young sons, embracing the adventure and energy that comes with raising a house full of boys.
