Bison was founded by The Terry and Kim Pegula Family Office known as East Asset Management in conjunction with operating partner Teton Capital Partners founded by Brad Ball and his team of executives.
As Terry Pegula rose from petroleum engineer to Billionaire Oil and Gas Entrepreneur, Philanthropist, and Professional Sports Team Owner the family was amazed to see all the products, services, and capabilities that became available to them. Bison seeks to make these family office tools available to Bison clients.

Michael serves as a Private Wealth Specialist at Bison Wealth, bringing over a decade of industry experience to his work with business owners, senior executives, and high-net-worth families. He focuses on the financial complexities that accompany significant wealth and major transitions, helping clients approach important decisions with clarity and confidence.
Much of Michael’s work centers on pivotal moments in a client’s financial life. He guides business owners preparing for a liquidity event through the tax, investment, and estate considerations that shape the outcome of a sale. He partners with highly compensated executives on tax-efficient strategies around concentrated stock and equity compensation, and he develops the sophisticated, coordinated planning that high-net-worth families rely on to preserve and transfer wealth across generations.
Michael earned his undergraduate degree in finance from the University of Georgia and went on to complete a master’s in finance at Southern Methodist University. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) professional, he holds himself to the highest standards of fiduciary responsibility, and he believes the best advice is the kind clients genuinely understand, not just technically sound.
Outside of work, Michael is a world traveler who spent several years living in Amsterdam as an expat, an experience that deepened his appreciation for new cultures and cuisines. Back home in Atlanta, he stays active and enjoys running, good food and wine, and planning his next trip abroad.
