About Richard

Richard serves as an Investment Adviser Representative (IAR) in his role with Bison Wealth. As an IAR, he advocates and proactively advises his clients on investments, retirement and income planning, and estate planning strategies to develop plans that produce a comprehensive long-term result based on the clients’ individual goals.

It has been Richard’s passion for over 30 years to provide his clients with innovative and efficient strategies that provide the desired outcome that is in the client's best interest. Richard has built a successful practice that focuses on providing strong long-term relationships with his clients and employees through trust, integrity, financial education/literacy, and transparency. He takes a six-step approach to find out more about you and develop a plan for turning your vision into reality:

As a lifelong resident of Virginia Beach and a product of a military/civil service family, Richard’s community ties run deep and are seeded in local businesses, government, and our military.  Richard earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance/Business and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Old Dominion University.

Community service is an important part of Richard’s life, as he has previously served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Alzheimer’s Association of Southeastern Virginia. This organization had a profound and inspirational effect on his family during his mother’s twelve-and-a-half-year battle with Alzheimer’s. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for both the Chartway Promise Foundation and the Old Dominion Athletic Association Foundation.

Richard has two beautiful adult daughters and two amazing grandchildren that he enjoys spending time with. He also enjoys working out, playing golf, traveling, general aviation, and attending college and professional sporting events.
